Magnitudle — the daily “which is bigger?” game
Magnitudle (also known as Size It Up) is a daily comparison game: two things, one question — which one is bigger? Here you can play our original take, Dawn Compare, check today’s answers, and read hints before you guess.
What is Magnitudle?
Magnitudle gives you a daily set of head-to-head matchups. In each round you see two things — two mountains, two cities, two animals — and pick the one with the bigger number: taller, longer, heavier, faster or simply more. After you pick, the real values are revealed with a one-line fact, and you move to the next matchup.
The game is also searched for as “Size It Up” — same idea, two names. Both spellings of the habit land on this page, and both are covered by our hints, answers and archive.
How to play Dawn Compare
- Read the question. Each round states exactly what “bigger” means — height, length, weight, speed, area, population or count.
- Pick your side. Tap the card you think wins (or press ← / → on desktop).
- Watch the reveal. Both true values appear, the winner turns green with a check mark, and you get a fact worth remembering.
- Score 3 of 5 to keep your streak. Play every day — a new set of matchups dawns at midnight Eastern Time.
Tips & strategy
Anchor on what you know
You don’t need both values — just one solid anchor. If you know the Eiffel Tower is about 330 m, anything near “tall building” territory can be compared against it.
Beware famous ≠ big
Famous landmarks are often smaller than you feel. The Great Pyramid is majestic — and barely a third of the Eiffel Tower’s height. Popularity distorts magnitude.
Categories repeat, values don’t
Today’s five rounds usually come from five different categories. Notice the unit in the question first, then decide — a “more people” question is not always about countries.
When truly stuck, guess the less obvious one
Matchups are chosen because they’re close and surprising. If one option feels instantly obvious, that’s often the trap.
